RoadPing ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use the RoadPing mobile application.
Location Data
RoadPing collects precise location data to provide real-time road hazard alerts. This data is collected in the background even when the app is closed or not in use, to ensure you receive timely warnings while driving. Location data is only transmitted to our servers when you explicitly submit a hazard report. Your real-time driving path is never stored.
Device Information
We collect basic information about your mobile device — hardware model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers — solely for analytics and crash reporting.
User Contributions
When you report a hazard, we collect the GPS coordinates of that hazard and any photo evidence you choose to upload. This data is shared with the community to improve road safety for all users.
Use of Information
We use the collected information only for the following purposes:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the RoadPing service
- Send you real-time road safety alerts via voice and visual notifications
- Verify and display crowd-sourced hazard reports to the community
- Monitor app performance and diagnose technical issues
🔒 We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose. RoadPing is a public-safety project with zero ad revenue.
Data Sharing
Hazard location data and photo evidence you submit are shared with other RoadPing users in your area to improve collective road safety. This is the core function of the app.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party — ever. We do not have advertising partners, and your data will never be used to target you with ads.
We may share anonymised, aggregated data (e.g., "50 potholes reported in Koramangala this month") with road authorities if requested, for the purpose of improving public infrastructure.
Data Retention & Deletion
We retain hazard reports as long as they are relevant and useful to the community. Stale or unverified reports are periodically removed from our system.
You have the right to request complete deletion of any data associated with your account at any time. To do so, contact us at the address below and we will process your request within 30 days.
